Today I want to share with you the work of Daria Lapto, whose work I stumbled upon via Instagram. Daria is a doll maker from Ulyanovsk, Russia and she meticulously sculpts wondrously surreal creatures using clay and natural textiles. You can instantly see the love and care that goes into creating each of her Claymate Creatures, pastel fluffy hybrid animals sporting antlers, horns and warpaint. Each creature looks both huggable and feral, I guarantee you'll want to adopt one yourself:
HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY BOOK OF DEER! My brand baby is growing up so fast!A big thank you to all of you that have helped me nurture Book of Deer to blossom from the tiny seed of an idea I planted 5 years ago. As time goes on, the things that used to seem so daunting and scary get a little easier. I suppose only time and experience can give me the confidence to keep believing that Book of Deer will continue to grow. It also seems apt that I turn 29 this week, nothing like birthdays to remind you to take stock of how far you've come and to make you think about what you want from the future. I can't look back without also being excited about what the coming year might bring.
All I can say is running this little business of mine, which at times still feels so very small and new, is a joy and a privilege. If any of you have dreams or ventures you wish to explore I hope you find your moment to go for it too. I think I am proof that even the most anxious and awkward of people can overcome their shyness for the belief in a good idea! So to mark this small milestone please take 30% off our Country Kitchen collection with code BIRTHDAYDEER3 Now I'm off to eat some cake...
I've been thinking about installing a fairy door in my home for a while now. I've seen many forms of fairy doors on Pinterest and been thinking it's high time I gave my house elves, borrowers and fairies easier access to and from the house.

Katie of Katie's Creative Spaces did a beautiful job of creating her own fairy door using a doll's house door that she painted to match her skirting doors:
Yesterday, I discovered The Magic Door Store that sell fairy doors ready to affix directly to your skirting board. I love the concept and the added little extras you can purchase to make your fairy door even more realistic... fairy dust, post boxes and miniature stepladders.
See the whole colourful range of doors you can buy in The Magic Door Store here. This is one piece of home decorating I can actually get excited about!
Our Stillness Dress was the best-seller of our AW14 Hibernation collection. I myself wore it to quite a few Christmas gatherings, the loose fit is ideal for those of us who like a little extra eating room in our dresses! We only have a handful of Stillness Dresses left in the online shop, so to tempt you even further to snap one up... check out Kailey of Mermaidens in her Stillness Dress.
I have been a big fan of Kailey's since I spotted her outfit posts and self portraits on Instagram. And while I've long admired her pink hair and her 'unicorn meets Wes Anderson meets retro-pop' style aesthetic, I adored her even more once we started emailing. Kailey is one of the sweetest, sincere bloggers I have had the pleasure to be in touch with and was a joy to collaborate with. Kailey shot her Book of Deer Stillness Dress in the woods, accessorising with black bunny tights and black patent mary-janes. She couldn't have chosen a more ideal setting for her shoot as real live deer actually turned up, if that's not a good omen I don't know what is!
Don't forget our entire AW14 collection is still 30% off!
