Book of Deer's debut collection is based around a series of detailed hand drawn prints and is inspired by the Mori Girl- 森ガール movement of Japan. The Mori girls (‘forest girls’) emulate fantasy woodland dwellers, drawing inspiration from nature and fairy tales. Book of Deer gives the Mori girl a life outside the fad and caricature-- uprooting her out of the forest and making her style wearable and practical for the modern city girl.
