So for those of you after an advent calendar with a difference I would highly recommend purchasing this digital one from Jacquie Lawson, it's nice to know your hard-earned dollars aren't going to Cadbury's but instead to an independent illustrator using modern means to capture a timeless Christmassy feeling. x

That Christmassy feeling comes a little later in Hong Kong; however, once the temperature dips a little the festive marketing hits fever pitch. I may be biased but HK does decorations like nowhere else! Wandering around here you not only notice the flashing lights on the skyscrapers but also the Xmassy details out on the streets. Festive limited editions and seasonal packaging, I'm a sucker for clever (ie. cute) marketing. Here are some amusing and adorable things I've come across over the past few days. And if you're after something more traditional, the decorations in The Landmark (a Hong Kong institution) are really magical. A miniature alpine ski resort complete with moving cable cars and a tiny log cabin.

Christmas is definitely here!

Hi folks! I'm back in Hong Kong now and judging by the uncharacteristically grey skies and dampness it appears I have brought British weather home with me. This isn't such a bad thing- not only are tights my favourite item of clothing in the whole wide world but the gloomy weather here makes me feel like I'm still in London. The weather during my stay was a pick-n-mix of wet and windy with sporadic blue skies thrown in. I didn't mind hunkering down and drawing during the long cold nights though, it was quite conducive to dreaming up AW13 print ideas. After spending 6 years in London I have come to think of it as my second home. I'm very grateful for the fact I still have opportunities to fly back and forth every year. My recent month-long stay flew by but I did manage to cram in loads (and lots of burgers too, they seem to be flavour of the month over there!)  I wont bore you with a recap of where I ate and some of the shamelessly touristy things I did. Instead, here are a few holiday snaps below. If you get a chance to visit London around this time of year I would highly recommend it, the Christmas decorations are just lovely. If you haven't heard of Rebecca's blog The Clothes Horse,  you must check it out pronto. She has the cutest style and her outfit posts are something special. Rebecca lives in a lovely rural part of Pennsylvania and the natural beauty that surrounds her makes for the perfect backdrop to her photoshoots. Rebecca comes across as such a warm, kind person and I truly think that this, coupled with her enviable wardrobe, is the reason ber blog is so incredibly popular.

I have long admired Rebecca's adorable personal style, she has become a bit of a muse at BOD headquarters. I was very very excited when she blogged about Book of Deer's SS13 collection-
