Fairy City
Look at the lift rising in the background!
I love the combined sense of hyper-realism and fantasy... imagine if fairies really did visit little tree bars like this!
The Clothes Horse goes Camping
"I don't have many childhood campfire memories. Most of the marshmallows I've eaten have been roasted in the backyard over a grill rather than an open flame in the woods. The nights I've spent under the stars can be counted on one hand and are mostly remembered by small rocks pressing into my spine. My fondest "camping" memories are actually just when my mother would let us pitch a tent in the living room and it became an alternative blanket fort. All the joys of camping with none of the nuisances like bugs or humidity. Still, I couldn't resist this camp-themed blouse by Book of Deer. The idea of camping is just another form of adventure and I can get behind life out of backpack guided by constellations and moss on trees..." Katherine of Corgis and Cocktail's story:
"I fell for this dress the moment I saw it pop up on a few sites in my Google Reader. Sometime sparked my mind while dreaming of spring, and I decided to check the site to see if the dress was finally for sale, and it was. A few days later, my husband bought it for me for Valentine's day. But I shipped it to my old home in Ohio, 8 hours away! Fortunately, my friends and family passed it around and got it to me in Pennsylvania. Wearing it was so fun - I kept glowing throughout the day in the dark hallways at work, and everytime I looked down at the print, I smiled. I'm pretty much obsessed with the cutouts."
Katie of Coeurs de Foxes' story:
"Honestly, I got this dress some time go. I wore it few times. The weather sux lately so every time I tried take photos I went home cus I wasn't able to stay outside wearing only this dress. Yesterday was just cold like the other days, but I was super determined to take photos. The temperature was on minus. I tried to take photos three times and third time it worked. My dress didn't came straight to me- just like Katherine's. Mine came to my nan. I remember like it was yesterday. My nan phoned me I got a parcel. My nan told me the envelope is full of lovely illustrations and I realised it was from Eilidh. I was super curious what's inside cus I told Eilidh to send me a surprise. She has too many amazing stuff in store so I wasn't able to decide what exactly I want. I asked my nan to open the envelope and I just heard in the phone: "wow, this is a beautiful, blue dress! And it sparks in the dark!". Then I knew which dress is this. This is why next day I came to my nan to receive the dress. Now, I love this dress so much so I wear this every day I can."
Katie and Katherine for bringing my designs to life!
