It has been exactly one year ago to the day that we launched Book of Deer’s first collection with a big party at Daydream Nation in Hong Kong. It has been a wonderful journey so far, watching Book of Deer take it’s first baby steps to steadily taking more confident strides.
Here are a few pics from our party last year…

I recently stumbled upon the work of Daniel Baretto through one of my favourite blogs Messy Nessy Chic. You all know how much I love me an amusing Gif, well these ones by Daniel elevate Gifs to works of art. Daniel’s manipulated photos merge forest scenes with urban elements to create a metropolitan fairy world.

Look at the lift rising in the background!

I love the combined sense of hyper-realism and fantasy… imagine if fairies really did visit little tree bars like this!

I was incredibly excited and flattered when Marie Claire Italia contacted me for their April edition International Style report. Proud to be representing HK in such a classy glossy magazine!
Readers of this blog will know I am a big fan of The Clothes Horse. Rebecca has the most enviable wardrobe and all of her outfit shoots are so wonderfully considered. A recent camping themed post featured our very own Yarrow Blouse which Rebecca purchased at Modcloth.
I love how Rebecca layered the blouse under a pinafore, that is just the way I would wear it too!
Rebecca says:
“I don’t have many childhood campfire memories. Most of the marshmallows I’ve eaten have been roasted in the backyard over a grill rather than an open flame in the woods. The nights I’ve spent under the stars can be counted on one hand and are mostly remembered by small rocks pressing into my spine. My fondest “camping” memories are actually just when my mother would let us pitch a tent in the living room and it became an alternative blanket fort. All the joys of camping with none of the nuisances like bugs or humidity. Still, I couldn’t resist this camp-themed blouse by Book of Deer. The idea of camping is just another form of adventure and I can get behind life out of backpack guided by constellations and moss on trees…”

Wishing all you pretty bunnies a very Happy Easter! I hope you’re all stuffing your faces with chocolate!
Here is a story of two wonderful bloggers on opposite sides of the planet wearing Book of Deer:
Katherine of Corgis and Cocktails and Katie of Coeurs de Foxes both share a love of our glow-in-the-dark Kindling Dress and collaborated on an adorable joint outfit post. I can’t express how happy it makes me to see these two girls make the dress their own, Katie’s urban wintery styling shows us how to carry the dress into the colder months while Katherine styles the dress for a day frolicking in the sunshine. Both girls are perfect manifestations of the Book of Deer girl I have in mind when I’m designing.

Katie and Katherine for bringing my designs to life!
