Greetings from sunny London! I have so much to tell you about my trip to San Sebastian, but for now I won’t bombard you with food pictures as I have bigger news to share…
Yesterday, Perspective Global announced their 40 Under 40 Young Design Talents of 2013 and I was lucky enough to be selected for the Fashion/Accessories category!!!
The award ceremony was held at the ultra swish Farrington Interiors in Hong Kong and my wonderful sister (and Book of Deer muse!) went along to receive the award on my behalf.
Here are a few pics from the evening that I received via live feed on Whatsapp!

Thank you Perspective, I am honoured and very grateful!
I’m off to London for 2 weeks…. with a wee holiday to San Sebastian sandwiched in there! I’m very excited!!
Don’t worry, I will still be working and it’s business as normal in the online shop!
See you on the other side (◕‿◕✿)
I promise to share some holiday snaps!
It has been exactly one year ago to the day that we launched Book of Deer’s first collection with a big party at Daydream Nation in Hong Kong. It has been a wonderful journey so far, watching Book of Deer take it’s first baby steps to steadily taking more confident strides.
Here are a few pics from our party last year…

My favourite online retailer in the whole world wide web is Modcloth. It has long been a dream of mine to find my own designs ranked amongst other like-minded brands on that site. Everything about Modcloth, from the way they imaginatively describe each piece to the addictive browsing options, lures me into spending hours window hopping and compiling wishlists.
I was so excited when a selection of SS13 Camp Book of Deer was picked up by Modcloth. I’m getting a real kick out or tracking the ‘Loves’ and reviews!
Thank you Modcloth for making one of my dreams come true!

Our online shop is closed today while we do a little behind-the-scenes stock change. Good news is, when we next open our doors you’ll have your pick of SS13! Get ready for Camp Book of Deer!
See you in a wee bit x
Here’s a sneaky peek at our upcoming collaboration with OPAL10. This necklace features a couple of mustachioed mushrooms that are so much fun to play with! I can’t wait to show you the full range… it will be available to purchase from the OPAL10 site very soon. x
Too much luggage!
I’m off to the UK tomorrow! Partly work and partly pleasure… I’ll be in London for most of the time but will also be taking a trip up to Scotland to celebrate my Grandpa’s 90th birthday!
It’s difficult to pack for the cold when you’re used to a subtropical climate. I’ve dug out all my cardies and tights and am trying to envision every possible outfit I might need. The rest of my suitcase is stuffed with my art materials… I somewhat resent precious clothing space being taken up by my wacom tablet and felt tip pens.
Anyway, it’s business as usual in the online shop while I’m away. Remember to keep sending in pics of deer you spot around the city (real, plastic, toy or printed…I’m not fussy) and you will receive a 30% discount code to use in the e-shop!
See you on the other side. x
CAMP BOOK OF DEER
Book of Deer’s Spring/Summer 13 collection, inspired by the hey-day of Summer camps and Girl Guide excursions evokes sun-soaked memories of crisp collared Brownie uniforms, secret clubs formed in torch-lit tents and sausages burnt on an open fire.
This season, Book of Deer’s trademark hand-drawn prints decorate a variety of fabrics. Mason jars of captured fireflies literally glow-in-the-dark on cotton dresses and crisp tops. Pop cultural artefacts and camping paraphernalia flutter on chiffon blouses and trapeze silhouettes. Candy- pink tents pitched in a watercolour forest are luminous on slippery soft pieces fit for day or night.
Book of Deer’s definitive concoction of fantasy, nature and nostalgia is whipped together in a palette of milky brights extracted from a polaroid photograph. A fun collection of wearable separates and statement dresses, this is Summer camp for nature-loving city girls who’ve made a scout promise to ‘Do a good turn daily’ in a pretty dress.

Here’s a sneaky peak of how the Foxglove shirt collar is cut. In order to make sure the birds (and impostor birds) are placed exactly on the fastened collar, each piece has to be cut one by one. x
